Jasper Earrings in Burgundy and Gray Colors, Copper Wire Wrapped Natural Gemstone Earrings

I love jasper - there are so many varieties to select from. Even within on type of jasper, a strand of stone beads presents an amazing choice of colors and patterns to design with. Porcelain jasper is no exception.

For these jasper earrings I wanted to show off a pair of earthy porcelain jasper stones and their unique burgundy coloration. This stone is so varied and presents so many moods - often I see winter scenes in it. But here, I simply liked the colors. The 14mm porcelain jasper coins I chose for these earrings are mostly a dark red wine or maroon color with graphic lines and dots in gray to black. I’ve wrapped the coins in solid copper wire and added an elevating touch with some faceted gemstones. In the last wrap of the wire, I strung eight 3mm faceted gemstones in colors that would highlight and enhance rich colors I saw in the porcelain jasper. There’s black spinel, silvery-black hematite, and deep red garnet in the gem wrap. The top of the ornament is finished with a textured copper-plated bead that adds a exotic vibe to the earrings.

Ear wires are solid copper, handmade in a nearly round shape because making fun ear hooks makes me happy too.

2 inches long, each earring weighs 4 grams.
