Red Brecciated Jasper Earrings with Genuine Turquoise, Handmade Red Stone Dangle Earrings

Deep red brecciated jasper and brilliant blue turqoise combine in these cute dangle earrings with fun geometric and color play. I made these earrings with 10x14mm rectangles and 4mm rounds of brecciated jasper and ~8mm freeform pebbles of turquoise from Mexican mines. I strung eight little round beads of poppy jasper (a type of brecciated jasper) on copper wire, bringing the ends together to create a circle component. I strung a rectangular jasper bead on the top of the circle. right in the middle of the circle, I placed a sterling silver wire wrapped turquoise bead to dangle freely. The red stone and turquoise ornament hangs on my handcrafted sterling silver ear hooks.

Southwest colors, but completely different and unique in style, these fun jasper and turquoise earrings would be a welcome addition to your natural stone jewelry collection.

Brecciated comes from the geology term “breccia” used to identify rock composed of broken fragments cemented together in a matrix. Brecciated jasper is a “chunky stew” of quartz, hematite, and other minerals. Brecciated jasper is thought to provide mental clarity and focus to its wearer. The uplifting stone may help to increase organization and decrease stress. Jaspers in general have been viewed as symbolizing the variety that is the Earth, and all the balance and grounding that implies.
