Russian amazonite comes in blue green, dark turquoise, teal, and green colors and is usually liberally flecked with white. It is a feldspar stone, sometimes called the "Amazon Stone" although this darker green variety is usually associated with Russian material. Amazonite is found around the world, and great mineral specimens can be collected here in Colorado. Amazonite is relatively soft for a gemstone. It's a good idea to take care with your amazonite jewelry so that is doesn't get scratched and lose its luster. I'll wrap these earrings in a satin pouch that you can use to store them.
