Organic Copper Squiggle Earrings with Etched DZI Style Agate Stones

Rustic and exotic looking replica DZI agates are adorned with tiny lapis gemstones and swing on organic hand formed copper wire squiggles. These dark copper wire wrapped earrings are earthy and rustic with hammered copper and interesting etched agate stones. I made these earrings for a coffee-themed showcase and named them: Turkish Coffee and Other Exotic Delights. Any adventurous woman would love these copper dangle earrings with their unique flair.

Have you ever had Turkish coffee? Delicious, exotic, and chewy (for want of a better term) it is the color of caramel, the darkest, almost too dark caramel you’ve ever had. Rich coffee, cloudy with the powdery grounds used to make it, sweetened with sugar, often to excess, it is something to have at least once. My first was as a grad student in Seattle, in a great little restaurant in the University District. For a while, it became an afternoon necessity when I knew it was going to be a late night. A little bite of chocolate and this sweet concoction, and you’re wired for a few hours.

To create the exotic and delicious vibe of Turkish coffee, I made an organic wire form, complete with hammered texture to evoke the cesve (Turkish coffee pot) and dangled a large DZI agate from the bottom. The etched and heat-treated agate has a dark coffee-colored pattern on a matte grayish white agate. A tiny faceted blue lapis stone is there too, simply because it’s beautiful.
