Green Garnet Beaded Earrings with Raku Ceramic Beads

Wonderful, organic semi-round, crusty, iridescent raku-fired ceramic beads are perfectly paired with green garnet faceted gemstones in these copper-wired earrings by Pebbles At My Feet. The ceramic beads have a lumpy, ridged, roundish shape, and a somewhat rough texture. The glaze is a mixture of cozy fall colors: maroon, brown, purple, sage, and blue with a pearly, iridescent wash on the highest ridges. They are fascinating, and quite like natural stones in that there is something new revealed each time you look at them.

To make these rustic earrings, I strung 13mm (~1/2") ceramic beads on handmade copper ball head pins with a tiny faceted black spinel gem at the bottom and the 10mm green garnet gemstone at the top. In between is a handmade copper "bird's nest" or "hot mess" spacer bead. The ear hooks are handmade in sterling silver with a dark, antiqued finish.
