I enjoy discovering artwork and crafts from around the world. There are so many talented people out there. Last year, I stumbled upon the Facebook page for Folt Bolt – The Colorful Art Palette .
I soon joined the Folt Bolt Club and often peruse the main website and store for colorful art and color inspiration. I love how Kriszta Kemeny, the force behind Folt Bolt, creates a new palette every month for the club and invites us to share work in that palette. I am in awe of the work of other club members, and don’t always share my jewelry. Often, these brilliant palettes are a bit intense to work in natural stones. This month, however, I decided to use the July art palette as color inspiration for something new from my bench.
This was Kriszta’s July palette:
I love agate, so I knew I had some orange to play with in my natural stone paintbox. I also found yellow opal, yellow “jade” (my source says this is serpentine) carnelian, peach aventurine, golden quartz, and orange garnets. Here is what I had on hand.
Top Center: Gemstone Cluster Earrings with carnelian, yellow jade, honey opal, and garnets. Bottom Left: Coiled Wire Wrapped Earrings with carnelian, natural red agate, yellow jade, and honey opal. Bottom Right: Natural red agate in antiqued copper teardrop "cage".
You can find these new earrings right here at www.PebblesAtMyFeet.com and in my Etsy shop.
I hope you'll look for Folt Bolt on facebook and on the web. I am sure that you'll enjoy the daily postings of vibrant artwork and handcrafted goods from around the world. It's a curated way to tame the internet's vast offerings of handmade and art for sale.
As always, I'd enjoy reading your thoughts on my post. Have you discovered FoltBolt? What color inspirations do you use? Please leave a comment.
