Pretty blue Nacozari turquoise and yellow orange crazy lace agate come together in these charming little bird earrings. These colorful earrings have a southwestern vibe from the turquoise and warm color combination and sterling silver corrugated bead accents.
I strung ~11 x 15mm crazy lace agate carved bird beads on my handmade torch balled sterling silver headpins, including a 3mm faceted orange fossil coral (agatized coral) at the top. The cheerful birds dangle beneath gorgeous ~5 x9mm twist beads of genuine Nacozari turquoise. This turquoise variety is known for brilliant blue color and very little matrix. The Nacozari mine in the Sonora region of Mexico is now closed, and this lovely stone (and beads made from it) is becoming increasingly rare. These are nearly the last of some old stock beads I acquired from another jewelry artisan. I've been holding on to them, but really, how perfect are they to represent the blue sky for this sweet little agate bird? I just had to use a couple.

Handmade in sterling silver the earrings measure 2 inches long from the top of the handcrafted ear wires. Birds are 5/8 inch wide (beak to tail).
