Simple and eye-catching, these sterling silver drop earrings feature small carnelian pebbles and Campitos turquoise chips. The stones are captured on wishbone shaped ear hooks and hang without any dangling motion. The look is sleek, uncluttered, and modern, and yet the rustic, organic shape of the natural stones lends a timeless or even ancient quality to these ear adornments.

To make these earrings, I first selected the stones – three carnelian pebbles in lovely translucent orange tones, and one brilliant blue turquoise chip for each earring. Using my torch, I melted the end of a length of sterling silver wire to form a ball. I rounded and polished the opposite end of the silver wire (the part that goes through your ear) then tumble polished them – still straight – for hours to shine and temper the wire. I strung the stones, separating the orange carnelian from the blue turquoise with a tiny satin-finished sterling silver bead. Then I shaped the earring into a high-peaked triangle with a nicely curved tail.

The stones will move on the ear wires, but I hammered the wire to prevent them sliding all the way off. They might slide up to the wide point and require a gentle nudge to bring the stack together again.

These wishbone threader earrings are 1 1/8 inches long. The stack of natural stones is approximately ¼ inch wide. They weigh a mere 1.1 grams each.

You’ll receive the exact pair pictured in the listing photos. Your order typically ships within a week, via USPS Ground Advantage. I post from central Colorado and transit times are typically 2 to 5 days depending on postal zone.
