A pair of silvery blue kyanite earrings, hand wired in dark, antique patina copper are rustic adornments you'll reach for often. These kyanite earrings are accented with glowing pale yellow calcite stones and a liberal wrapping of darkened copper wire. Handcrafted in solid copper and presented on handmade copper ear wires, these blue stone earrings make a thoughtful copper anniversary gift for your wife.
I find that kyanite is one of those stones (a little like turquoise) where even just a touch of it makes everything better. In looking through my stash I was immediately drawn to the pale blue color of this pair of stones - very much a steely sky blue with silvery sheen that changes with motion. But to use these unique beads, I had to contend with some size and drill hole placement mismatches. As a result, one earring is longer than the other, though they complement each other nicely in overall shape, color, and impact.
I chose ~5/15 inch wide kyanite sticks, one is 1 ¼” the other just under 1 ½ inches with the same color tone and silver sheen. I wired them in solid copper wire with a yellow calcite puffy chip/rondelle sitting on top and free-spirited wraps of wire between. These rustic beauties dangle on my handmade copper hooks.
