This beaded natural stone necklace features a red creek jasper oval pendant framed with beautiful blue turquoise chips and a beaded chain of red creek jasper tubes and rondelles interspersed with river stone saucers and turquoise heishi.
I love turquoise, and love certain combinations of turquoise and other natural gemstones and this necklace showcases an old favorite: Red Creek Jasper and turquoise. Red Creek Jasper is also known as Cherry Creek Jasper and is so earthy and varied it’s like getting a multitude of different stones on a strand. Earthy gray, red, mustard yellow, and brown bring all kinds of inspiration to my design board.
The focal stone measures about ¾ inch wide by 1 ½ inches tall. I've wrapped it in copper wire to hang at the center of the necklace. Chunky genuine turquoise chips frame the pendant then the rest of the beaded chain is made up with 6mm tubes, heishi, rondelles, and saucers.
Strung on nylon coated stranded stainless steel beading wire, I used copper crimps and wire guardians. My handmade hook and eye are oversized and easy to grasp. Put the hook in your right hand as you reach behind your neck to clasp it and the "right" side will be displayed.
