This copper wire work necklace features a prehnite pendant and hints of a vintage aesthetic.
I was inspired by the prehnite teardrop. Its terrarium-like quality and soft green colors led me down a magical woodland path that went back in time…or not exactly. There are vintage vibes, but it’s also contemporary with its asymmetrical elements and rustic metals.
I wrapped the prehnite teardrop in copper wire, linking it to a copper urn-shaped element I made with vintage-feeling curves that end at different heights. I made a station chain with 6mm prehnite and 3mm faceted prehnite and dusky purple rubies that stresses the purple stones on one side of the pendant and the green on the other. The back of the necklace is a length of manufactured solid copper cable chain and a large hook closure that echoes the shape of the pendant.
Made by hand in pure copper and natural gemstones, this necklace would make a brilliant 7th anniversary gift for your wife. If she loves getting lost in a good book and walks in the woods, she'll appreciate the sort of vintage, utterly unique character of this prehnite necklace.
