Minimal Earrings with Iolite Gemstone Chips, Dainty Wire Threader Earrings

These minimal earrings with iolite gemstone chips are a wonderful choice for everyday wear. Dusky blue and bluish purple iolite natural stone chip beads are strung on a piece of sterling silver wire that has been shaped into a small wishbone earring. The blue stones can rotate on the wires, showing their pebbly contours and reflecting some light in the process. The dusky stones and oxidized silver are moody, like a sky hinting at a storm on the way.

These small earrings are 1 inch long and hang without dangling. Look put together in your running-errands outfit or lounging at home.

Made with a single piece of sterling silver wire. I melted a ball at the bottom to hold the beads, added the stones, then shaped the tail of wire into the ear hook. The resulting earrings have an arch or wishbone shape. Careful hammering at the top of the bead stack widened the wire to keep the beads from sliding off. They will move, though, and might need a little nudge to keep them nestled at the bottom of the earring. But that movement makes them fun to fidget with, just tugging them down to feel them securely in your piercing is calming.
