Marbled Gray Jasper Earrings, Brown and Gray Stone Teardrop Earrings

Simple and dramatic, these long teardrop earrings feature gray jasper stones beautifully marbled and veined in black, brown, hints of yellow, and lighter shades of gray. The stones are called "tallow jasper" and come in a variety of gray and white colors and veined patterns that resemble tallow or fat used in candle and soap making.

I used jasper teardrops, about 1 7/8 inches long by just under 1/2 inch at their widest, and blackened brass pinch bails to make a striking but simple stone drop. The black brass highlights the darkest veins in the jasper stones and blends well with my handmade sterling silver ear wires with their oxidized patina. Overall, these earrings measure 2 1/2 inches long. What a great accessory for a winter-white or dramatic black outfit.
