Long Dangle Earrings in Shades of Burgundy and Black, Garnet Obsidian and Mookaite Earrings

These dramatic, long dangle earrings in a linked cascade style, feature mookaite carved flowers in dark burgundy red. Additional natural stones expressing a deepest red and black colors scheme are linked to the flower beads in a long, tapering chain.

I think the carved flower design on the mookaite coins elevates the stones’ rather plain, earthy burgundy color to something richer. I was certainly drawn to them. I paired them with oval mookaite, round rainbow obsidian with a purplish sheen, and tiny faceted garnet coins. All hand wired in 22 and 24g sterling silver with an oxidized patina, the dark and moody gemstones dangle from my handmade 20g sterling silver ear hooks.
