Green Turquoise Beaded Necklace with Porcelain Tree Pendant

This lovely turquoise beaded necklace began with the wintery tree focal in porcelain. A copper foiled tree on white crackled porcelain with hints of evergreen and turquoise. That little hint of turquoise was all I needed to consider my stash of greener-hued turquoise beads. I thought, turquoise for holiday green? Why not!

The pendant hangs on a rustic copper bail I made that is twisted and craggy like a tree branch. The necklace is two strands of genuine earthy turquoise. The lower strand is slightly graduated smooth round beads from about 3mm to 6mm in size. Interspersed along the strand are rustic red garnet rondelles and bright copper beads. The upper strand is almost entirely 2.5 mm faceted round turquoise and 2mm solid copper rounds. Four garnet bicones framed with copper blend this strand with the other one. The upper strand is slightly shorter than the lower such that the pendant hangs on the upper beads and the lower strand drapes a bit for a unique silhouette.

Necklace is 16 inches long. It is strung on copper colored coated steel beading wire with copper crimps and crimp covers. The closure is my hand crafted copper hook and eye with easy-to-grasp spiral loops.
