These unusual chrysocolla dangle earrings evoke early summer green fields dotted with wildflowers. The chrsyocolla stones display a marbled appearance with teal, herbal green, and browns hues. The chrysocolla tablets dangle beneath my handmade copper “wildflower riot” medallions. Take a wildflower hike and touch a hundred flowers and not pick one.

I used ¾ inch copper circle blanks and created a texture with stamps of flowers, leaves, and a butterfly. Closely packed, and growing tall, you imagine the colors. Here in Colorado at the right season and elevation, fields will be entirely violet in lupine, or blue and yellow in columbine, or fuschia, red, white, and yellow of everything like prairie smoke, paintbrush, locoweed, penstemon, skyrocket. I chose the chrysocolla stones for their grounding green and brown colors. They are rounded rectangles, about ⅜ inch wide by ⅞ inch long. I made the ear hooks in pure copper, 20 gauge.

2 9/16 inches long, each earring weighs 2.9 grams.
