These earthy brown stone earrings feature two of my favorite natural stones: fossil coral and genuine turquoise (of course, they're "all" my favorites!). Hand wired in darkened copper, these rustic earrings feature large coin-shaped fossil coral beads and genuine turquoise disks with earthy brown, green, and blue green colors. The dark brown copper wire wrap with a meandering trail across the face of the circular stones blends harmoniously with the stones' colors. 

I love stones that invite and reward a closer look. The fossil coral stones do just that. At first glance, they are just "pretty beige stones" but when viewed up close, you can see a subtle stippled pattern in parchment white. The patterns reveal the prehistoric coral skeletons where tiny corals once lived,  "agatized" into stone over millennia. Fossil coral often has bold geometric patterns, but these understated examples are just as fascinating. I chose earthy Hubei turquoise with its green leaning color and rich brown matrix to complement the fossil coral.

SIZE

  • Earrings measure 1 3/4 inches long from the top of the ear hooks
  • Flat round fossil coral stones are approximately 3/4 inch in diameter
  • Each earring weighs ~4.8 grams
