Brown Stone Carved Fox Earrings with Kingman Turquoise Nuggets, Nickel-free earrings

Vintage fetish style carved fox beads are wrapped in copper wire with genuine Kingman mine turquoise stones for these rustic dangle earrings. The carving depicts a standing fox with large bushy tail held behind him. Brilliant blue turquoise contrasts with the dark khaki color of the foxes lending a southwestern flair to the design.

At just a little over an inch long, these clever foxes are a great addition to any animal lovers wardrobe. They'd make a great 7th wedding anniversary (copper) gift for your wife, especially if she has a love of Nature and the wilds of the American southwest.

  • 1 1/4 inches long from the top of the ear wires
  • Fox carvings measure about 1 1/16 inch head to tail and 3/8 inch tall

  • Pre-2000 vintage fetish style carved stone beads
  • Kingman turquoise beads
  • Copper wire
  • Niobium (manufactured) ear wires, completely nickel-free

The fetish carvings of the Zuni Native Pueblo people of New Mexico are very well-known. This little fox is patterned after those, but I have no way of knowing the heritage or identity of the carver. The Fox symbol (to the Zuni) represents amusement, cleverness, and subtlety. Fox has the gifts of camouflage, swiftness, and shape shifting. If you've ever seen a fox, or have a regular fox visitor to your yard, you know and appreciate these qualities.
