Here's a pair of brass and amethyst dangle earrings with handmade brass charms with an autumn swirling leaves design. Celebrate the lingering warmth and sunshine of early autumn with these antique gold and purple earrings. 

I used 22mm (~ 7/8 inch) brass discs to make charms for these earrings. I stamped a design of leaves around the perimeter and a big spiral in the center to express the energy and wonder of fall leaves caught up in the wind. I then hammer-textured the edges and domed the charms. After applying patina I polished them again for an antique golden glow. I love purple and golden yellow together, and the antiqued brass gives the combination a lovely earthiness.

Wired in 22 gauge red brass wire, the charms dangle beneath 12mm gem-faceted amethyst coins. Earwires are also red brass, 20 gauge.
