Beaded Natural Stone Earrings in Southwest Colors, Carnelian Gemstone Earrings with Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli

Inspired by the gorgeous Southwest colors of the Colorado Plateau and beyond, these beaded gemstone earrings mix orange carnelian, genuine turquoise, and royal blue lapis lazuli with copper and silver metals. These classic beaded orange, blue, and turquoise drop earrings boast handcrafted sterling silver ear hooks add an artistic touch. These rustic stone earrings make a great gift for her: you know, your girlfriend who rafted the Colorado river last year and went on and on about the blue skies, red rocks, and golden sunsets. These southwest earrings will complement any day of the week or style of dress. They are colorful - like Colorado - and are sure to be noticed.

  • 1.675 inches long from the top of the ear wires
  • A little under 0.5 inch wide at the widest point (the lapis stones)

  • Carnelian faceted stone beads
  • Arizona turquoise in a greenish color
  • Mexican turquoise in sky blue color
  • Lapis lazuli
  • Copper beads
  • Sterling silver wire

I chose lapis and turquoise stones beads in rustic, disk shaped cuts and paired them with a refined, faceted carnelian gemstone bead. The beaded stack has a pleasing tapered shape wider in the middle. The carnelian at the bottom and the copper beads at the top of the stack frame the blue and turquoise stones in the middle with their pretty orangey tones. Strung on sterling silver headpins with a ball detail at the bottom, the colorful natural stone and copper drop swings on handcrafted silver ear wires with an elegant high peaked shape.

These little earrings illustrate the impact that simple classic jewelry can have when natural stones strut their stuff. I enjoyed placing every bead, and I hope you will enjoy these little gems too.
