Artisan Bohemian Necklace with Natural Stones Copper and Leather, Mint Green and Brown Stone Statement Necklace

An artisan Bohemian necklace, with natural stones in tan, brown, and mint green, is a statment necklace that is easy-going and a pleasure to wear. This mint green and brown stone beaded necklace features warm copper accents in both brightly polished and antiqued finishes. I selected etched onyx barrels, large agate rondels (some are color treated to a shiny mint shade), natural African turquoise (a type of jasper that could easily be called "mint chip jasper"), and beautiful, matte surface bronzite stones adding a rich dark chocolate color to the mix.

The two strand necklace showcases agate, onyx, bronzite, and copper in a chunky beaded strand, and bronzite and African turquoise jasper in hand-worked stations in a copper chain. The strand and chain come together at a hand forged copper ring. Fine deerskin  leather lacing  is knotted to the ring and at the back for the closure. The necklace adjusts from about 17-inches to 30 inches long. There is no clasp, slip it over your head and slide the copper bead to adjust the wearing length.

  • Necklace adjusts with a sliding bead from about 17 inches to 30 inches long
  • Beaded strand averages about 5/8-inch thick at the front and 3/8 thick at the back
  • Deerskin lace is 3/16" wide
  • The fourth photo shows the necklace on a ladies' size 6 mannequin. Bust line measures 35 inches.

  • Agate stone beads (dyed)
  • Natural onyx with etched pattern
  • African turquoise
  • Bronzite natural stones
  • Copper bead caps and beads
  • Copper wire and chain
  • Authentic deerskin lace with soft, supple hand

The onyx barrels with their primitive etched patterns were the kernel of inspiration for this necklace. I confess to (rather often) purchasing supplies like these stone beads with no project in mind. I'm simply drawn to them. Well, as a result, I had them for a while until, one night when I couldn't sleep, I conceived of this necklace (or rather, the combination of colors and how pleasing it would be with the onyx barrels) Yes, I do create in a kind of "stream of consciousnes". Now you know. Once I selected the onyx beads in two subtly different shades of tan, the agate stones were a great size and provided that bit of minty color, African turquoise and bronzite presented a nice blend of green and brown to tie it all together.

This artisan necklace would look beautiful with crisp summer white and pastel colors. It will elevate a tunic and jeans to a great evening outfit and bring an artistic splash to any Zoom meeting wardrobe.
